Weekend already?! Wheeee!!! I'll be able to prolly spend most of my weekend continuing my projects, also maybe slip in a pending paper craft model to build. Depending on how "easy" it could be, I could maybe slip in another model. I just love weekends.

Anyway, as for my projects, in previous post I mentioned a couple of them in passing just to make that post slightly "productive", so here's a "preview" of two of those models I intend to build, also a pic of my previous release, Cloud, in case nobody realized the material I posed Cloud from.So, Tifa is definitely going to be standing right next to Cloud, so far I managed to get Tifa's arms to her sides, I just need to replicate the pose she has on the right picture and she'll be ok. I originally wanted to have Tifa in her classic pose, but that won't work if she's standing next to Cloud. Considering I can only work on my projects only on the weekends I would assume this will take me a month or so to finish up. Also hoping that in that time frame I may be able to learn something new that I can incorporate on the final edits on Tifa and future projects.As for Aerith, she's in the "idea" stage as of now, but judging from the source material I found to pose her from, she may also make it to my build roster. She'll definitely be sitting rather than standing, so that would mean I would need to pose her legs properly, not to mention get her to balance without tipping over.As for the other models I mentioned, I have yet to find a proper source material to pose them from, so no preview pic will be available till I find one. Hopefully I would find some to choose from, or I could just make a custom pose instead, depends really.

Anyway, that's all, will pose an update when it calls for it. For now, this will have to do.

Monday, June 1, 2009 Cloudy Skies

Quick post about an upcoming release, namely KH2 Cloud Strife. What? Why're you lookin at me like that?! Of course I was gonna continue the project, just wasn't sure when and how will I release Cloud.
Just about done with the build and so far he looks pretty damn good. Although at this point I'm a bit concerned about who's gonna build him (yeah Kaizo, it just occurred to me just how "holyf***colossal" he is). The fingers and head look scary at first, but was easy to build no problems there at all. It's the final pose that I would release that's actually bugging me. (picture above lacks the head and left hand)

Would y'all prefer a Cloud model holding the Buster Sword over his shoulder (like the build I'm making), OR a Cloud model having the Buster Sword strapped to his back? Obviously his arms would both rest on his side if you chose the 2nd option

Oh, and before you make up your mind.... the Buster Sword is 34 inches LONG, just take that into consideration while y'all make your decision. Oh yeah, if the model was any smaller... you'll have a really hard time building the wolf head, seriously.

Anyway, I'll add a poll thingy on the side bar. If anyone's interested just vote... if no one cares, then, whatever, I'll release the model AS IS, without making the necessary changes. The poll will be available till June 8, so vote as much as you want, on the pose that you want. If there's no definite result, I'll extend the voting time for an additional week.

Sidenote: Reason I'm asking, is that I don't want to go through the whole redesign and unfold process again, then no one is interested in building either version. This is the last week for my summer vacation and I plan on doing other things than just focus on Cloud.

I figured it's best to have an actual comparison of both versions. Went with another classic pose we usually see Cloud in, who's ready to draw his sword. Also, I just remembered that I don't really need to redesign or unfold the model again, I can just import the different arm position into the existing .PDO file that I have... I just trolled myself apparently. So the poll is relatively useless at this point, however, I'm actually interested in which pose y'all would prefer.

Anyway, I'll edit the poll questions... y'all can either choose Pose A or Pose B. I think it's pretty darn easy to figure out which is A and B, right? So to the individuals who already voted, y'all can vote again if you wish.

Saturday, May 2, 2009 Slight Update + Cloud WIP

(There's alot of blabber going on, so scroll down)
My apologies for not updating my progress with LeBlanc. Rest assured, I'm already working on the test build, final build and instructions so I can provide the release as soon as I can.

However, I have to admit... I'm also a bit distracted by building other paper craft models on the side. Oh, by the way, I learned something new just a couple of days ago. Lets just say, it deals with the matters of the heart.

I think I'll leave it as that.... for now.

Bleh.... might as well give in and reveal the next big ambitious project. Since I really need guidance on this one. I was actually inspired by Ninjatoes Kingdom Hearts Cloud model, to pursue other games other than FFX-2. Also coz I just learned how to extract models from Kingdom Hearts 3 days ago.
I need to learn 3d modeling and figure out how to actually pose him. If not, then......... Funny thing is, it's my summer vacation and yet I'm actually studying?! HAHAHAHA

Yes people, another edit. In case you're wondering why it's taking so long to release LeBlanc, I had to re-do the build process for her torso and arms, and I modified the template to compensate for those changes I made. I just hope it works out this time.
In other news.... I've just about started making some real progress with Cloud. To think, 36hrs ago I had no clue whatsoever on how I'm gonna tackle this new project. Cloud was in the default "T" pose, and now he has his left hand clenched into a fist, and both arms are resting on his sides!! It's all thanks to Kaizo and Ninjatoes for providing me tips on how to pose Cloud in 3DS that I've gotten this far. Thanks alot guys!!!!

Looks like I'm on a roll with this one. I'm still undecided on the actual pose... but this one... seems... rather familiar.... like I've seen this pose before. I just hope that all this posing and stuff would be feasible once he gets unfolded.... IF he's possible to be pepakurized, that is....

Well, I've done what I can possibly do ATM with Cloud. Unfortunately, my complete lack of experience in dealing with such HIGH poly models such as this has made me realize I was aiming waaay beyond my own skills (Also coz Kaizo was kind enough to tell me that the model can't be built as it is). Sure it was fun to actually learn from 2 of the BEST paper crafters out there, but I still have a crapload to learn. I'll re-visit this model from time to time, whenever I learn something new, but for now, Cloud is on indefinite hold. Unless someone out there manages to work with KH2 Cloud.....

Monday, April 20, 2009 LeBlanc WIP

Ok, time for an update on my work with LeBlanc and other stuff.

As you can see, LeBlanc is nearly done. I worked on the layout over the weekend. I cleaned up most of the clutter from the previous WIP screen shot. If you noticed, I even integrated Kaizo's trademark style.

Obviously I don't have a style of my own just yet, hence I used the horizontal banding method on LeBlanc. Rest assured, as time goes by, I would hopefully have a style of my own. And I do hope that style works out...

Anyway, I still need to layout LeBlanc's head.... and yeah, it's gonna be hard. Especially having all those spikes. It's one thing to have a couple of spikes... but having a head full of spikes is a whole new ball game. Hopefully, I'll be done on the layout before the week is over. Then maybe I can start on the test build. Oh, and here's who I'll be working on next.

I'm really starting to enjoy working on my own projects than building a model that someone else pepakurized. It's a lot more gratifying than usual. It adds another layer of excitement, from extracting the model till laying out the pieces, then finally building the model. Not to mention the fact that you actually get to see a model that you want to get pepakurized.

Well, thats all for now... time to get some sleep so I can start fresh on LeBlanc tomorrow.

Ok, it's Tuesday, woke up early to get a head start on LeBlanc... hehe, head start.. get it? ಠ_ಠ

Anyway, it's just about lunch time, and oi vey.... do I have a stiff neck. I tend to tilt my head in the same manner that LeBlanc does.... and oh boy, was that a bad idea. *cracks neck*

Edit 2:
Ok, I've done what I can to make the hair as easy as possible, but there's still much "work" for me to do, thats just a few of the spikes I was able to fix till now. Do remember I'm building this for myself, I'm just sharing her with everyone else. I'm not aware of the skill level of whoever wants to build LeBlanc, so don't complain if it's too hard, if ever you do decide to build her.

Edit 3:
It's Friday, finished up on LeBlanc's layout since Wednesday and was about to start off with the test build today, unfortunately, my printer doesn't want to cooperate with me.

Shown above is the HP Photosmart All-In-One C6180 printer that I've been using for a couple of months now. Recently ran out of yellow ink after my last papercraft build, Kurt Zisa.

I still have alot of ink left to test build LeBlanc, without textures, and with using just the black ink. But nooooo, my HP printer does not give a damn, even if I want to print in grayscale.

What was HP thinking when they added that feature?! The product prints well, the colors are crisp and vivid but this feature ruins it all. I mean, sure it's prolly my fault for not having some spare ink on hand for such occasions, but still... I want to print using ONLY the black ink, so what gives HP?!

I'll prolly get the new ink set I had ordered a couple of weeks ago arrive by Monday. So till then, I'll just mess around with Yuna's Psychic Dress Sphere. Who knows, I might end up making a double release before the month ends.

Friday, April 17, 2009 Lets Pepakurize!

Well, I couldn't wait until tomorrow for me to post something new in this thing. Also, I wanted to beat Kaizo before he starts using "pepakurize" in some point or another. LOL

Here's a screen shot of what models I have in mind to build. They are not arranged in any order, so at anytime, if I feel like making a Lady Luck Yuna, I'd go for that... or maybe her Psychic Dress Sphere outfit. If you're wondering, those were extracted from the FFX-2 Greatest Hits game.. surprised.. I sure was. Anyway, this may still change of course, especially if I find making Rikku's hair a nightmare to fix up... look at all those double sides ಠ_ಠ. Ah, yes.... Paine is definitely sexier in her Dark Mage look *le drool*.


Onto the real subject of this blog then.. my first, very ambitious project. Her Royal Highness.... The Queen of Hearts.... The Lady LeBlanc!


Yep, a very ambitious project indeed for a first time "pepakurizer" (you see what I did there right?).


As you can see, I made some minor tweaks to the model. It wasn't really necessary, but I wanted to anyway. I don't know how to simplify models yet.. so hopefully as time goes by I may learn a few tricks along the way.


The default unfold scared me a bit. But after a few lessons from Kaizo, namely from his videos, I may be able to fix the layout as best as possible.

So yeah, lotsa good times ahead of me. Hope to finish at least 2 models before my summer vacation ends... or it'll be quite sometime before I stir things up again. Well, that's all folks...


P.S: If y'all are wondering what the deal is about "pepakurize" and "pepakurizer", it's just a term I came up with (also happens to be a WIP blog name) since using the word "design" apparently angers some individuals, therefore unleashing their wrath on unsuspecting paper craft enthusiasts. That does not mean they won't be offended by the new term anyway..... so who knows. ಠ_ಠ

Quintessential whatnots!

I wanted to share some knowledge that I have about Paper Craft, but then again, I'm just a newcomer with 3mons background in Paper Craft. What knowledge is there can I actually share that others before me have already done right? Besides, I'm still learning html, so what right do I have to post what I know about Paper Craft!? LOL

So, lets just start with the basics, the purpose of this blog and certain policies.

As I previously stated, this blog would just host the documentations of my "work in progress" and releases. I wanted to keep my projects to myself, but then, that'd be for an audience of.. well, myself. So figured I might as well share what I can, and at least get some comments about the model while I'm at it.

Projects Revision 1.1:
I do have other projects in mind, and I'm constantly thinking of something new to play around with. It all depends on my interest for that particular model that would determine the order of things, and whether or not will I scrap the model that I'm least interested in or inclined to build.

For now though, I'm limited mostly around Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XII, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2 and Warcraft 3 models. Most of which, I manually pose the models to my own preferences. It takes time, and alot of patience on my part.

Project Releases Revision 1.1:
As stated above, this blog serves that purpose. I won't release any of my projects on other sites besides this one. If you wish to host my releases or make a news post about my projects, then so be it, however I would appreciate it if you're inclined to "share" my release with everyone, perhaps a link to my blog would suffice, rather than a direct link to the file. ^_^

I don't work on my projects 24/7, I still have other important matters to attend to, so I won't be giving out promises or a date release on any of the projects I have in mind. If I build it, I will release it......

Requests Revision 1.1:
I don't take requests, well, why should I? I prolly won't be able to work on anything else besides what I already have. If I take requests of a particular game or model that I don't have any access to, then that request would be pointless. Now, if for some reason someone comes up with a request and provides the materials, I may accept that request. It would still depend if I'm interested in pursuing to see the finished product. Of course, you would also need to consider my paper craft experience. ^_~

Commissions, Donations:
Out of the question. Sure I love money too, who doesn't right? But I won't accept those either. This is a hobby of mine NOT my livelyhood. If I wanted money so badly, I'd drop out of school and look for a job. But thats not the case here right? So, if anyone does plan on hiring me for a commission in the future, it's best for you to put your money into good use and donate them to the poor and homeless. Share the love people. ^_^

Well, I do believe I've covered everything in this post. I'll update if it calls for it. Stay tuned for my next entry that would showcase some models that I DO plan to build/release.


I think I have a new mantra here..... If I like it, I will build it... If I build it, I will release it... (dang, that sounds so stupid LOL)

Uh, first post... HOOORAAAAY!!!!

Anyway, this is just something I decided to make to publish my work in papercrafting. I just started recently, so I don't have anything to release yet as of now. But I am working on something. Also, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to stuff like this, html and whatnots, so I have no clue how to fix this darn thing.

Anyway, so far I've finished adding a few tweaks to the model. By that, it means adding a few more faces to the model to print out, but I think it was necessary to make those improvements. Well, it's up to you to decide if those changes were needed.

Uh, I had to look for an appropriate mentor to help me out in getting started, so I think I chose the best person for that job. Definitely helped me out, considering his models got me started into paper crafting. Dunno if he'd want his name mentioned here or not... but might as well do, since he deserves a great round of applause... y'all know him as Kaizo.

Honestly, it took me a bit to figure out how to add his name to that link.... how sad is that? LOL

Guess that's all for now... I need to look up on this html stuff. C'ya!

Just chose a simple looking template, tried to figure how those freaky codes worked. Got the size of this post window a bit bigger... and... uh, that sidebar thingy moved a bit... jeeez, I'm a sad piece of work huh?
