Wednesday, November 18, 2009 The Family

Just about done with the Moogle Family, so figured I may as well update and show what you may have to expect once every member of the Family has been completed and assembled together for a group pic.

Finally gonna finish a project that I started 2 months ago.... (yay)

Saturday, November 7, 2009 Update Time!

Sorry for the lack of updates... schoolwork, exams and all that other stuff not related to papercraft was getting much of my free time to even bother to post updates and stuff.

Anyway, for those of you following this portion of the blog, you may remember I said that I'm not too keen on a pose for Hurdy at all. Given I didn't get to find a decent rendered pose of Hurdy from the game.... I totally had to go freestyle on this one and make something up.

So here's what he looks like:

Seriously, it was easier getting him into that pose than I actually thought. I'm quite fond of this one of course.

Well, there.... I guess that's a good teaser pic of whats to come in the following days/weeks.

Friday, October 2, 2009 Project Update

Before anyone goes, "Jote doesn't have a staff!", I'm well aware of that, thank you.

Jote isn't a playable character, nor is she a guest character in the game either. However, lets just say she did become a guest character, that's how I'd imagine she would look like, and what weapon would best suit her, given she's the Elder of Eruyt Village. Staff of the Magi or Rod of Faith might be a good choice, of course I may change that depending on what I get for Mjrn (a sword maybe?). Seriously, if I'm gonna scratch pose character models, might as well make em customizable with weapons and shields to choose from. (still need to decide whether or not I'll give y'all the option to choose accessories)

So, basically what I'm saying is that once I'm done with the Moogle Family, I'm going to try out character models next. Starting off with NPC's would be a good way to start things off. As for the scale:

Jote standing right next to Momo would be 352mm (13.8in), which pretty much means I screwed up. My FFXII models are NOT in scale with Kaizo's Balthier model ;403mm (15.8in). So I'm left with the dilemma to either match my models with Balthier; making Jote at most 16-17in, and leaving the Moogles too short and out of scale, or just go ahead and stick to the scale I started with.

Crap....

Anyway, yeah... that's just about it really. Will update once I get my head straightened out. As for the remaining Moogles, will have them in a huge batch release as soon as I finish up on Monty.

Monday, September 14, 2009 Moogle Lineup 2

Decided to make a new post for Gurdy.

That's as close as I can possibly get to the reference picture that I have of Gurdy. Suffice to say, she turned out pretty darn good. She's ready for unfolding, same goes for Sorbet, who's actually ready for building. I finished Sorbet before Gurdy since I still have to figure out how I can get her in that hovering pose with some sort of stand. I'm actually thinking of using the "Moogling Station" as a make-shift stand for her, given that it's going to be behind all the Moogles anyway. So that may just work... I'll play around with the idea for a bit and see just how far it goes.

Hopefully I'll find the time this week to work on unfolding and building both Gurdy and Sorbet. So a weekend double release may just be possible. Which just leaves me with Hurdy, Horne and Monty!

Well stay tuned!

Friday, August 28, 2009 Moogle Lineup

Well, I found as much reference material that I can use to pose the Moogle Family, although, I'm still missing Hurdy. The ones I've seen of Hurdy was a simple pose, his hands on his sides and he's looking up.... that's it. It's so plain looking that I'm not inclined to use that pose for a model. So, anyway... I'll prolly pose him from "scratch".. maybe that would be best.

Guess that's it.... the pose for the 5 members of the Moogle Family is final. It just boils down to who'll be the next Moogle that will get the paper treatment. So if you want to have your say on who's the next Moogle Release, you'll need to vote on my main page! Stay tuned!

PS: Nono is becoming my most favorite Moogle in the group.

Edit:
I'm pretty much into cleaning up and posing "The Moogles 6". So far I'm already done with the cleanup work and pose for Nono, which I'm quite pleased how he turned out. That's pretty much as close as I can get to the reference picture that I have. If I do anymore changes, the pieces might end up too small for a 7in model. This is set and ready for unfolding, however, I won't do that yet... I'll finish up every Moogle in the family, and whoever you guys choose, will end up being the next release. I don't want to release everyone in a single batch coz, that's just plain crazy.

So expect random updates this weekend, kupo. (what the.....)

Edit:
Hello there, kupo!

Had a bit of difficulty getting that pose for Sorbet, it's as close as I can get before having too many steep edges. Hopefully, if I build him without folding, meaning, giving him the smooth build look, then that wouldn't be an issue. Also found the Moogling Station, this will be an added "bonus" thing for Hurdy, Horne and Sorbet, completely optional. There's no need to build 3 Moogling Stations, just one would suffice, but that's up to you.
Soooo many ideas.... Soooo little time..... Just 2 hands to work with.... geez.... Till next barrage of updates!

Thursday, August 27, 2009 New Blog Page

If you stumbled in here, then that means you were paying attention to the changes on my main blog. I moved all "Updates" related posts to this one, to clear up as much clutter and nonsense on the main blog.

So, this blog, called the "Assembly Line" will be where I'm going to post all the updates and projects that I'll be working on. The main page, "Paper and Glue" will solely be used for actual model releases. This method, simply makes things easier for you to just download the model without seeing much of my blabber.

So, if you're slightly interested in any of my updates and projects, this is the place to be.

Sunday, August 23, 2009 Moogle-Palooza, Kupo!

I'm supposed to be studying right now, for exams this week.. starting tomorrow actually..... but I can't help myself from posting this new development.

I'm not officially working on FFXII, nor am I sure how this will turn out. This will mark as the first model, that I'll try to build in a smaller scale compared to Illidan or Tonberry. I'm planning to build him at least 6 inches tall... if I have the attention span to build a model that small of course. If not, I'll scale him up a bit, maybe at most 8 inches from foot to the tip of his ears... but seriously, I'll try to get away from colossal models as much as possible.

If it's worth doing... it's definitely worth overdoing it! Kupo!

Sunday, August 16, 2009 Warcraft Fever

Oh.... hell.... yeah!

I think I've gotten the Warcraft fever already. After a successful build of Illidan, the other Warcraft models have taken residence on my laptop and they don't seem like they're going anywhere soon.

Above are just the few models that I've been playing around with. Notice how the Elven Archer, and the Heroes Sylvanas, Cairne and Grom have multiple poses? Well, in my plans to make an actual diorama, I'll need several units, so obviously it's best to have unique poses for each one. I'm not sure about the final poses for the heroes so I made several of them as well.

Also..... Illidan has been bugging me.... it just doesn't feel right to have him in a single pose. So, I'm tinkering with several versions, all of which I'll eventually build. The question here is, would I release them?
I swear, I have a serious craving to build a 3ft tall Illidan model...... darn it!

Thursday, August 13, 2009 Project Stormrage

Well, finished everything that needs to be done with Illidan (ie: pose, double sides and template) and I'll start the build this weekend. As for sharing the final product, I'm still undecided. For some reason, this new project of mine has generated far more hate than usual. Something I managed to keep track off by the use of that nifty little Stat Counter I have on the bottom of the page. Recently added that the same day I started this project, and indicated by the number it shows and the number of comments I've received since then.... it seems alot of my "fans" disapprove of my project.

You'd think they have something else better to do with their time, heh. Perhaps it has something to do with my new projects name, Illidan Stormrage? Well, anyway for those few individuals who are actually interested in my progress, just stay tuned I suppose!

Monday, August 10, 2009 A little something new......

Hmmmm, let's just say I was inspired to seek out something new to play around with.Too bad I don't have WoW, well simply because my laptop won't be able to handle that game. Warcraft 3 was barely hanging on, so I won't even bother with WoW. Anyway, Illidan won't be the only Warcraft 3 character that I'll pepakurize, it'll all depend on how he turns out then I'll build other characters. As for releasing them, well, I'll think about it. Posing the models won't be too hard, seriously, after dealing with Cloud and Tifa, this is gonna be a piece of cake!

This definitely means that Warcraft 3 will be added to my repertoire of games that I can pepakurize. So stay tuned I suppose.... this is gonna be fun!
